Dmitry's Poem
Vanity
The way man
Would walk this land
And toward his dream
Stretch out his hand
With both his eyes
Fixed on the prize
He learns the trade
He sells he buys
Still emptiness
Is just a sign
That he has passed
The finish line
All his success
Brought him no gain
Just one big mess
And all in vain
Another tries
To fill his hunger
With earthly pleasures
Without number
He builds his world
And satisfies
The voice of lust
Which whispers lies
But if he’d stop
He’d realize
Uncomprehendible
Is his hunger’s size
Then others try
To soothe their soul
And sell it for
Some rock-n-roll
Some go to sail
The great blue sea
All in search
Of their destiny
Through a ship wreck
They will find
They cannot fill
The void inside
This world is empty
This world is cursed
And all its pleasures
Are perverse
So all of you
Who blindly try
To gain your soul
Shall surely die
Who’s soul is crippled
Who’s heart is blind
All those in search
Of peace of mind
A God sized void
Is in us all
And only God
Can fill your soul
irina kocsis - poetic reflections on eternity
Love Undeserved
There are things beyond my reason
When it comes to you
Your mercy I do not deserve
And your love so true
You did not let me die
In sins that I betrayed you for
You just stood and gently knocked
When from You I closed my door
When darkness had surrounded me
When I could no longer stand
You did not judge or cast me out
But tenderly held out your hand
Unconditional Love
A love without measure
One that forgives all
More valuable than any treasure
To Him is my poor soul
He heard the screams
Throughout the crowd
That had him crucified
And yet while dying innocent
Their sin He justified
Forgive them father
They don’t know
With His last breath He said
While the crowd
Mocked Him below
All mercy in them dead
To Him alone I want to give
My mind, my heart, my soul
For Him my life I want to live
Who’s love is unconditional
Sympathy
I knew not quite what to do
When I saw a heart all torn
I wanted to mend all its wounds
But all that I could do was mourn
I saw the pain in her eyes
But could not find a thing to say
And with the burden on my heart
I slowly turned and walked away
Her tears of sorrow and bitter pain
Now flood my memory
My heart cries out to you dear Lord
For You alone can set her free
Take oh God her heavy heart
And do for her what I can’t do
Shine light into her broken life
And in Your arms carry her through
Cruel Game
There are times when no words can be found
To comfort a shattered heart’s cry
When darkness blocks out all the light
Causing all dreams to die
When happiness is just a memory
From a clouded past
When hope is just an empty word
Something once there that couldn’t last
When something you once held so dear
Turns and stabs you in the heart
When future is no longer clear
And present is tearing your world apart
A time when you’re afraid to trust
Someone who calls himself a friend
When all your dreams have turned to dust
And there’s nothing left to defend
When the word love is like salt on a wound
Causing you to scream inside
A cruel game someone had played
Taking you for a painful ride
Once a Child
A forgiving heart
Seeing everyone as his friends
A pure open mind
Unable to tell when someone pretends
An innocent ear
That believes all it hears
Eyes full of trust
Smiling so soon after tears
He does not know
What it means to despise
Nor that this world
Is filled with so many lies
Oh sweet child
It's painful to see
What many like you
Have grown up to be
For God, who
commanded
the light to shine
out of darkness,
hath shined in
our hearts, to give
the light of the
knowledge of the
glory of God in the
face of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6
In the beginning
was the Word,
and the Word
was with God,
and the Word
was God.
The same was
in the beginning
with God. All things
were made by Him;
and without Him
was not any thing
made that was made.
In Him was life;
and the life was
the light of men.
And the light
shineth in darkness;
and the darkness comprehended
it not.
